The ABCs of Authority

AUTHORITY is given. There must exist a higher authority from which any agent shall derive the power – permission to operate – to do that which the higher authority want accomplished in the jurisdiction that the agent is granted to operate.

Authority must be authentic or it will work havoc to those it is exercised upon or to those who try to exercise it. Remember the story of the seven sons of Sceva. Know the one whose authority you are exercising.Key connection; connection is key.

Authority and understanding go hand in hand. No fool is deserves to receive a mantle. A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions. (Pro 18:26)

The tongue and authority; one word from a tongue of authority effects what a crowd of mere men can never do be it they keep shouting all day and end at naughty. Remember the story of Elijah and the Baal prophets + the disciples in the rough sea with Christ.

Authority is an honor; from God to a man that he may honor Him by honoring fellow men. It is a gift of God, no man should boast of it, rather humble.

Authority is opportunity; to serve God through positively impacting the humanity.

Authority commands Respect. While those with power get respected, it is noble when those in authority respect their subjects.

Integrity keeps authority from the rocks.  In my integrity you uphold me – says King David in Psalms 41:12. For every measure of authority, we shall give account to the giver of authority.

The Trustworthy are worthy of authority. Being entrusted with what others need to entrust themselves to you; authority is to the trustworthy, make it count to those who trust you due to the authority entrusted you by God.

No Yielding, no authority. Yield yourself to God and your effort will yield bountifully. Authority is given, give.

Authority should be:
Authentic
Understanding
The Tongue
Honor
Opportunity
Respect
Integrity
Trustworthy
Yielding
