Give Yourself Up for Her..

No girl is born a wife. No girl becomes a wife. A wife is made. You don’t get a wife, you get a girl you love her, you mutually love one another, you two agree, you get married, and you make her your wife. 

It is not as easy as it sounds. That’s why we have so many house wives and the Come-We-Stay class of wives. A man took a girl to his house ready to live together for better or for worse, for richer for poor, in sickness and in health, to love, to hold and to cherish and he did not even think for a second that death had power to do them part. When they got to the house, the man overlooked the new reality, he is not just the man of the house; he is a husband to the wife. The man never let go of himself. She became a wife in the house he brought her to, she had no option but be a house wife.

One wife one life it is. A husband who loves his life will lose it; a husband who gives up his life for his wife will gain it indeed. As a husband, you are mandated to forego all others and commit to your wife alone. Make her your jewel, the only jewel you have eyes for. Handle your jewel with care, tenderly. Love her with all the love there is; let her know your heart is hers. Say your love to her, sing it in your own composition for her, whisper it into her ears and watch her face break into a smile like a flower at sunrise, even dream it loud when she is awake to tell it back to you!

There are no part-time husbands; you are either one or you are not. A husband is not defined by a marriage certificate - it is very necessary – or by the asset portfolio that he holds – as a man he is a wealth creator. Not every man is a husband. A husband is not determined by the number of sons and daughters sired. Show me your wife and I will tell you whether you are a husband. Have you fully given yourself up to and for your wife? That’s the roll-call that counts the husbands.

It is a husband duty to make his wife beautiful, inside and out. When you fell in love with her, she was a beautiful girl. She was in charge of herself. She isn’t a girl anymore. That beautiful girl is now your wife.  Now, now she is yours, you - hers. Now you no longer get what you see, you get what you are. You see your wife, you see yourself. She is your reflection. Well, Make her feel beautiful, make her be. If you wanna feel good, make her feel good. Being a husband comes with a cost. Those who pay it know what it means to live well – in the abundance of love and life.

You are my wife, the spice of my life, I am all yours, nothing to do us part.

Prov 24:3,4

Notice how life and wife sound the same?

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

Eph 5:25

Husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. 

He who loves his wife loves himself.

 After all, no one ever hated his own body,

 but he feeds and cares for it,

 just as Christ does the church

for we are members of his body.  

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 

and the two will become one flesh.”

This is a profound mystery

but I am talking about Christ and the church.

However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, 

and the wife must respect her husband.
