I Show Up

I show up.

Broken, I still show up.
When days are bright, I show up.
When days are gloomy and dark, I show up.
I be in time, on time or after time, I show up.
Tired or not, I show up.

I clear my thought and humbly come forward to offer what I know, my best.

I have in my own small way tasted the joy of doing the right thing, it greatly exceeds the game of missing in action.

I have taught myself to show up and be the best.

Sometimes I may push myself there, and sometimes but for the soft encouraging voice of the beautiful who stands by me, she gives me reasons that no one else would, her smiles that fuels me on, her strength that challenges me, her presence that serves to remind me that we are a cord of three strands.

She shows up for me and with me.

I show up and do my due.
I show up and pour out myself.
I show up and let my best hit the road.
I show up and put forward a game of impact.
I show up and rise to the occasion.

I show up and before dusk, something happens right, someone gets sorted, someone smiles, someone knows, someone feels, someone understands.

I show up, teach and learn. I show up and build on the past in this present time.

I show up and make this present moment count.
I show up and ensure that the future will be worth it.
I show up and step into the future, one step at a time.

And when the dust of the day settles before dusk and I am home, where I belong, we hug, hold and give thanks to God for always showing up with us.
