I stumbled on this article which I had written in 2006. I was amazed at what I had to write at such a time. Have a read:
When faced
by a crisis, the only one to turn to is God. To be frank, it is only god who
has the mercies to keep us floating in time of crisis.
Many young
people are faced by a life crisis. To them, the borderline between wrong and
right is not very clear. Sometimes they find themselves engaging in
controversial actions; the mode of dressing, drinking, language, relationships
and all. This has made many young people to even doubt the purity of the life
they live. They find their outer self trying to verbally justify itself whilst
in their inner self, they are not convinced that their life is full in Christ Jesus.
They doubt themselves and what? Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that
is driven and brown out by the wind.
Where there
is doubt, fear prevails. The fear of uncertainties to come due to decisions
made out of un-made-up minds. Remember that it is fear that will make you not
to grip the gift of the Holy Spirit who gives us power, love and self control.
People and
especially young people need to make up their minds and strike a clear decision
in all they do. Obeying God’s commands is not something for joy riders. It
requires a fully made up mind and a heart that is fully stretched to receive
God’s commands and strive to abide by them. This more than ever needs a
prayerful youth. It is by prayer that the law of the lord will get a sanctified
sanctuary to abide in. the law of the Lord will act like a mirror which will
help us flush sins out of our lives and hence enable us to live pure lives.
In your
prayer and meditation, understand that it is only the Lords can lead you to
learning his ways. Acknowledge him with praises, for what are all living
creatures supposed to do? Praise the Lord!
Make it a
lifestyle to delight in following God’s commands. Many young people try to put
all their energies and thoughts about future prosperities. Many work hard to
earn a living and a saving for tomorrow. All this is not wrong. However, if not
checked, it chocks our gracious gift of salvation. The worries and hurries of
life will make you to forget even to pray only to find yourself depending on
Sunday service prayers. Strike a definite deal with your God. You need him more
that you can even imagine. Yes. Even to give you the energy to work harder. So?
Cast your burdens unto Jesus. He cares for you. Remember that everything will
soon come to an end, so be serious and sensible enough to pray.
As many
young people are studying or even reading for pleasure, God also needs you to
get this; you need as well to study his instruction and examine his teachings.
You need to read the Bible. The holy scriptures are able to make you wise
enough to have faith in Jesus Christ and be saved. Everything is the scripture
is God’s word. All of it is useful for
teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to
live. The Holy Scriptures will train you to be God’s servant, endowed with all
kind of Good deeds.
The Bible
contains un-aging wisdom- a pillar of s full life. Chose wisdom from above, for
it is pure; chose you today.
So, That is how I was thinking in 2006!
